Results of the 2006 Futureskills Scotland user survey have been published. Key Messages Although the number of respondents was disappointing, feedback from users was overwhelmingly positive. The main points from the survey are: - Most users are aware of, and have used, the main Futureskills Scotland reports;
- The principal use made of Futureskills Scotland material is in setting the wider context; and
- Most Futureskills Scotland outputs are rated highly by most users.
Users were also asked to identify what Futureskills Scotland should do more of, and to suggest areas where Futureskills should reduce its activities. Two issues arose: - There is a clear demand for Futureskills Scotland to actively promote its work more - through active marketing, more events and user workshops; and
- There remains some confusion regarding Futureskills Scotland’s role in relation to more detailed local and sectoral analysis.
Futureskills Scotland will address these issues in the forthcoming year. We will: - Allocate a greater proportion of our limited resources towards actively promoting Futureskills’ outputs and in engaging in dialogue with our users; and
- Restate and clearly communicate our role with respect to more local and sectoral analyses of the labour market.
We will report back on our progress on these actions in our Annual Report.
