IER Bulletin 81 presents findings from Working Futures 2004-2014, which represents the most comprehensive set of employment projections ever published for the UK. Working Futures 2004-2014 focuses upon the future patterns of demand for skills as measured by occupation. The results cover the United Kingdom, as well as detailed sectoral and spatial results. The results are based on the use of a multi-sectoral, regional macroeconomic model, combined with occupational and replacement demand modules. The research was funded by the Sector Skills Development Agency and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). Working Futures 2004-2014 is the latest in a long series of projections, produced by the Warwick Institute for Employment Research. Information about previous Warwick IER publications is available at the Institute for Employment Research website.
